Little Smokies w/Bacon

One of our favorite and most popular appetizers. Makes bout 46 to 50 little smokies.

Ingredients

  • 1lb pkg Little Smokies (about 48 smokies)

  • About 16 slices Bacon

  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar

Preparation

Spray a 9" x 13" baking pan with pam.


Cut bacon in thirds,(about 3 1/2 inch peices). Wrap each smokie with a piece of the cut bacon, and use a toothpick to hold bacon on smokie. Arrange in baking pan, packing close together so sugar does not fall to bottom of pan. Sprinkle bacon wrapped smokies with brown sugar.


Bake at 325 degrees for about 1 hour to 1 1/4 hour till bacon is cooked, but not crisp. Remove smokies from pan, drain well on paper towels.


Should be served hot. Do not skimp on brown sugar.


Can be partially cooked, without brown sugar ahead of time, about 1 hr. Then to serve, put on Brown Sugar and cook 30 mins.
